Contemporary figurative paintings in oil and watercolour, exploring memory, stillness and quiet strength. Work made to live with, and keep discovering.

Art About What We Carry - And Who We Become

Beauty with something underneath

Technically accomplished, emotionally resonant art exploring what we carry - how our experiences shape us, and the quiet strength of becoming fully ourselves.

The art you live with shapes how a room feels. My paintings begin with something real - a memory, a feeling, a moment of release - then leave room for you to find your own story inside them. Made to be noticed once, then noticed again.

Meet the Artist

I’m Jessica Taft, a Melbourne-based contemporary visual artist working primarily in oils and watercolour.

I trained for eight years in drawing, oil painting and watercolour under Ukrainian artist Margarita Krivitsky, with further fine art study in Florence. My work combines these classical foundations with expressive colour, symbolic detail and imaginative composition.

Painting is where I feel most authentic and free. I hope the work invites you to pause, look again and recognise something of your own story within it.
